HEADS
A place of no return

HEADS – A Place of No Return is a series of drawingsin which time, imagery, and collective memory converge. Moving continuously between past, present, and future, The work explores how images accumulate, circulate, and acquire new meanings.

Drawings emerge from an intense engagement with a multitude of existing images. Fragments from historical and Western archives are placed alongside contemporary image streams: the visual archive of social media, popular culture, and the endless flow of digital reproduction. By collecting, shifting, fragmenting, and reconnecting these images, it creates a layered visual universe in which different times coexist.

The archive does not function here as a fixed repository of memory, but as a living and constantly shifting system. Images carry traces of their original contexts, while simultaneously losing them as they are reappropriated and placed within new constellations. The work investigates precisely this shift: what happens to an image when it is detached from its origin and becomes part of something else?

HEADS can be understood as a melting pot of images, memories, and histories. The drawings move between the personal and the collective, between what we remember and what is presented to us through images. In doing so, they reflect on the ways in which our reality is increasingly shaped by a constant, almost uninterrupted stream of images.
